The question is this: dogs bark, it is natural. It is our task as responsible owners to teach our dog when barking is appropriate, and when silence is golden. Excessive barking can and should be checked. I personally have fine in neighborhoods where irresponsible people left their dogs outside to bark night and day. It made my life a nightmare, to put it mildly. I also know that owning a dog barks very can be quite a struggle. Dog experts have different methods, but there are some basic techniques that are universal. I have always trained my dogs Speak/Quiet commands with great success.
