Service dogs are dogs trained to work or perform tasks that help to mitigate the effects of disability support/owner. In other words, they are trained to perform actions such as:

Press the buttons on the elevator
Turn on the light switches on and off
Have items in their mouths or backpacks
Promote physical transfers to and from wheelchair
To ensure balance and support
Go to get help is to be their support/owner need human assistance, etc. ..
And these pets also provide Unconditional love and companionship to their owners, as well.
Service dogs are also allowed to accompany their owners almost everywhere they go. Because the support for animal services is protected under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), the service dogs are free access to public buildings and public forms of transport, including trains, subways, buses, planes, etc. ..
So what is becoming a service DOG?
Each dog train can become a service DOG, so long as the dog has traits desirable for one. These dogs must have a good temperament (good manners and sociable), have good health, good physical structure, and must be intelligent and easily trainable.
Most of the dogs selected begin their training as puppies. In the first year of the dog is raised by dedicated foster family volunteers who train the dog in dog basic obedience and a stronger national socialism, the guidelines developed by the Organization of Dog services.
After a year or so the dog is returned to the organization when it is evaluated to determine what "category" is best suited for. Formal training starts basic training program. This is where the dog is taught to all the basic skills that you need to know how to perform all of these special dogs. Then the dog is further trained to perform other tasks and skills that will relate to the specific needs of the applicant will be suited for the.
Dogs entering the program come from private farmers, some of them are kept by the Organization, which will be responsible for their training and there are some dogs, even from the refuge! Most breeds of dog used are: Golden Retrievers, Labs, and German.
