Scottish Deerhound Dog Breed Picture - Scottish Deerhound Photo

In honor of this year's Westminster winner Scottish Deerhound is this week's featured race. A somewhat rare breed of dog, Scottish Deerhound is athletic, brave and loyal. This Hound is large, long and lean with a physique much like a Greyhound. The breed is known as the "Royal dog of Scotland" and was once described by author Sir Walter Scott as "The most perfect creature of heaven."

I have met a couple of Deerhounds over the years, and they have all been gentle, noble dogs. Learn more about the beautiful Scottish Deerhound and decide if this could be the dog for you. Are you one of the few who have been lucky enough to live with a Deerhound? Tell us about your experience.
